I was quite excited to receive StripWash Floor Cleaner Eco Strips, but I soon realized they are not quite as eco-friendly as they may seem! All I had to do was read the information on the back of the packaging, which said the following:
“Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects.”
How is that eco-friendly? Zero waste, I guess, but eco-friendly? They also claim to be cruelty-free. Something does not compute here with all those claims and that one statement.
I proceeded to try StripWash Floor Cleaner Eco Strips and see how they work anymoose. This review is based on me trying one strip once to clean my floor.

Ingredients
On the packaging, it says that it’s vegan, biodegradable, zero waste, cruelty-free, and plastic-free. Just a few ingredients, but two of those aren’t that great according to ingredient checkers. Granted, you’re not using StripWash Floor Cleaner Eco Strips on your skin, which would be a very bad idea.
Or are you???
The packaging says…
“Great for low temp washes and hand washing.”
And also…
“Causes skin irritation.”
The full ingredients list:
Sodium dodecyl sulphate, Anionic surfactant (>30%), parfum (contains benzyl alcohol)
I looked into this a little more and found that it’s the sodium dodecyl sulphate (sulfate) that’s the culprit here for causing long lasting harm to aquatic life and more:
So again… How is this eco-friendly???
StripWash Floor Cleaner Eco Strips are not even quite safe to use on plastics and linoleum, and you’re supposed to rinse them well if you use them on those types of surfaces. Not safe for non-treated and waxed wood at all. It’s all on the packaging.
Smell and Usage
The smell is the main reason I wanted to get something nice-smelling to wash my floors with instead of a wet rag scent or something.
StripWash Floor Cleaner Eco Strips smell nice and you can smell that fresh breeze scent without even having to open the packaging.
The strips simply dissolve in water and get quite foamy too when dipping the mop in the bucket. One strip splits into two so only half of it is needed for one wash.
I personally find that this whole fresh breeze scent thing wasn’t worth it for me, even if StripWash Floor Cleaner Eco Strips do the job they’re supposed to do. I mean, my floors aren’t super dirty and I really just got it for the scent, as well as assuming that it’s a great alternative to something I can get from the supermarket. Just water is actually enough to clean my floors or some universal household soap that is probably more eco-friendly.

Packaging
Maybe it’s the packaging that makes it eco-friendly. StripWash Floor Cleaner Eco Strips come in plastic-free carton paper packaging, which is nice. It also doesn’t take up much space. There are 24 strips in one pack.
Price
You can definitely find cheaper options out there, but it’s alright, I guess. A little cheaper on the manufacturer’s website based on the current exchange rates, but with all the shipping and stuff, probably better to get it locally.
These prices are true in March 2025:
Price at Nula Shop: €9,90
Price on StripWash website: £6,99
Where It’s Made
The United Kingdom.
Summary
🟢 Vegan.
🟢 Zero waste.
🟢 Biodegradable.
🟢 Cruelty-free.
🟢 Plastic-free.
🟢 Smells nice and does the job.
🔴 Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects.
🔴 Can cause skin and respiratory irritation and acute respiratory toxicity (not stated by the brand, just based on my research).
StripWash Floor Cleaner Eco Strips are not eco-friendly at all based on the fact that they are harmful to aquatic life and have some health implications as well. That’s why I am taking all the “green” claims with a grain of salt. If you look at it more closely, you see that it doesn’t make sense to make a lot of these claims and call this product eco-friendly.
Would I Buy It Again?
Not a chance!
