Marcel’s Green Soap Hand Soap Vanilla & Cherry Blossom Review

Marcel’s Green Soap Hand Soap Vanilla & Cherry Blossom

This is another lovely but a little perfumey hand soap by Marcel’s Green Soap. I found it way more pleasant than Marcel’s Green Soap Hand Soap Orange & Jasmine, though.

I did end up using this vegan soap as more than just a hand soap. Marcel’s Green Soap Hand Soap Vanilla & Cherry Blossom also works great as a shower gel apparently.

Marcel’s Green Soap Hand Soap Vanilla & Cherry Blossom

Ingredients

This vegan hand soap is 97% biodegradable and has a microplastic-free formula. It includes plant-based glycerin for extra skin softness but is not sulfate-free. No colourants and no alcohol.

Marcel’s Green Soap Hand Soap Vanilla & Cherry Blossom is packed with perfumes. According to the ingredient checkers, it has six ingredients that are perfumes. It is more perfumey than Marcel’s Green Soap Hand Soap Orange & Jasmine.

Full ingredient list:

Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycerin, Sodium Chloride, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Benzoate, Parfum, Citric Acid, Sodium Sulfate, Benzyl Salicylate, Citronellol, Coumarin, Hexyl Cinnemal, Linalool

Smell and Consistency

Marcel’s Green Soap Hand Soap Vanilla & Cherry Blossom has a pretty nice scent, which is even better when using it as a shower gel. The smell wasn’t somehow irritating, unlike Marcel’s Green Soap Hand Soap Orange & Jasmine, despite it being quite perfumey.

This vegan hand soap is pretty thick but not too thick. It’s also not so runny that it would easily leak, which I find nice. Perfect consistency I’d say. It was nice to use as both hand soap and shower gel.

I think one of the reasons I enjoyed it as a shower gel is that it’s not as runny as the shower gels I’ve tried by the same brand: Marcel’s Green Soap Shower Gel Argan & Oudh and Marcel’s Green Soap Shower Gel Mimosa & Blackcurrant. I find that it makes it last longer and it’s easier to control the dosage. The packaging might play a part in this too since Marcel’s Green Soap Hand Soap Vanilla & Cherry Blossom bottle has a pump.

Packaging

Marcel’s Green Soap Hand Soap Vanilla & Cherry Blossom comes in a recycled plastic bottle. The packaging can be refilled or recycled again, but the local store I got it from doesn’t have any refills available.

This vegan soap comes in 250 ml and 500 ml bottles. Marcel’s Green Soap’s official website also has a glass bottle with a pump, but haven’t seen that available at the eco-friendly local store where I get my products from.

The plastic bottle has a pump, but I found that it was getting a little stuck at times. That didn’t happen with Marcel’s Green Soap Hand Soap Orange & Jasmine, so maybe it was just a little blip with this one. It didn’t affect the usage much though.

Price

Marcel’s Green Soap Hand Soap Vanilla & Cherry Blossom is decently priced for its quality and amount in my opinion.

These prices are true in February 2025 for a 500 ml bottle:

Price at Nula Shop: €6,90 (I possibly got it on sale, so might’ve been cheaper)
Price at Marcel’s Green Soap website: €5,99 (I saw they also had a sale when I was writing this and it was €4,79)

It costs less at the official store either way, but taking shipping into account, buying it locally is the better option for me. Marcel’s Green Soap does not offer free shipping outside the Netherlands.

Where It’s Made

The Netherlands.

Summary

🟢 100% vegan.
🟢 97% biodegradable ingredients.
🟢 No colourants or alcohol.
🟢 Scent is pretty nice.
🟢 Works well as both hand soap and shower gel.
🟢 Hydrates the skin well.
🟢 Bottle is from recycled plastic, including the cap. It can recycled again or reused with refills.

🔴 It’s not sulfate-free and may irritate sensitive skin since it’s generous with perfume. I personally had no issues with that.
🔴 Packaging is not plastic-free.
🔴 Would be great if it were 100% biodegradable ingredients.

I quite enjoyed using Marcel’s Green Soap Hand Soap Vanilla & Cherry Blossom, especially for not its intended purpose. It works great as a shower gel! I’m not like super in love with it though. It’s a good and nice vegan soap overall.

Would I Buy It Again?

I’m feeling mostly neutral about this one. More yes than no, I suppose.
